A Bihar state school teacher has been arrested and jailed for allegedly instructing children in his class not to vote for Mr. Modi, news agency PTI reported, citing officials.
Muzaffarpur SSP Rakesh Kumar said the teacher was arrested for violating the election model code of conduct, adding that the action was taken after the district education officer lodged an FIR.

According to DEO Ajay Kumar Singh, Harendra Rajak’s conduct was brought to his attention by relatives of some students of a government secondary school in Amlak in Kulhani block.
The DEO said, “Families have submitted written statements that their children have been told by their teachers that no one should vote for Mr. Modi as food grains unfit for human consumption are being distributed under the free ration scheme.” A complaint has been filed.”

He further added, “Many boys and girls in the class also confirmed that Rajak had said such things in the classroom. Clearly, this is an attempt by government officials to influence the outcome of the poll by their remarks.” “This is a breach of the Model Code of Conduct, which prohibits attempts to give people Therefore, an FIR has been lodged against the teacher seeking necessary action. ”
Phase 5 voting in Bihar:
In the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls, 49 seats in six states and two union territories will go to polls on May 20.

Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Hajipur, Sitamarhi and Saran constituencies will go to polls on Monday. Votes will be counted on June 4th.
