NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday urged all election duty officials to remember their constitutional responsibilities even in the face of pressure and said that once the Indian bloc forms the government, they will take the constitutional oath. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone who insults the people.

His remarks on ‘X’ came in the wake of Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s post on his social media platform in which he shared a video purportedly showing a person voting for the BJP ‘eight times’. surfaced.

Late in the evening, in response to the Congress and Samajwadi Party’s posts, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa in a post on ‘X’ said that an FIR has been registered at Nayagaon police station in Etah district in this regard. Ta.

“Re-voting at the polling stations is recommended by the ECI,” he said.

“Seeing defeat, the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to usurp democracy by putting pressure on the government machinery to refuse its mandate,” Gandhi said in a post on X.

He said Congress expects all officials on election duty to remember their constitutional responsibilities in the face of pressure from the powers that be. “Otherwise, as soon as the Indian bloc government is formed, actions will be taken in the future that will make everyone think ten times before insulting the oath of the Constitution.”
