On May 21, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan accused Congress and India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of “destroying the country” and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi “will unite the country.” ” he said.

Speaking at a poll rally in south Delhi in support of BJP candidate Rambir Singh Bidhri, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister exuded confidence that Modi would retake Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if elected for a third time.

“Under his leadership, this country is poised to prosper and become a world leader,” Chouhan said.

“On the other hand, the Congress Party and Nehru committed the crime of destroying the country. If (former prime minister) Nehru had not stopped the (1947) war and had continued it for three more days, the whole of Kashmir would have been part of India today. Kashmir would not have existed,” he said.

The BJP leader claimed that Mr Modi will take back PoK if voted to power again. He vowed to protect the “pride of mother India and the people of Delhi” and exuded confidence that his Bharatiya Janata Party would win all seven seats in India’s parliament in the capital.

Mr. Chouhan accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of “cheating” those who helped establish the Aam Aadmi Party. “He (Kejriwal) fooled so many people and ignored them. From Anna Hazare and Prashant Bhushan to Kumar Vishwas, he betrayed them all. Swati Maliwal is in this list It was just added,” he claimed.

Kejriwal’s close aide Vibhav Kumar was arrested on Saturday for allegedly assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwal at the Prime Minister’s residence. AAP claimed that Maliwal was “blackmailed” by the Bharatiya Janata Party to join a “conspiracy” against the prime minister as he was accused in an illegal recruitment case.

Mr. Chouhan dismissed the rebel Indian bloc, calling it a “forced alliance.” “These people are incapable of running the country properly. They have not even revealed the name of their prime ministerial candidate. Only PM Modi can run the country effectively and take it to new heights.” he added.
