Oklahoma State dominates Texas Tech baseball team in Big 12 Tournament

Texas Tech baseball pitchers allowed four walks and a wild pitch in the seventh inning, giving up three runs in a game against Oklahoma State in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington. , which resulted in a favorable outcome for Oklahoma State University.

The Red Raiders struck out 14 batters, their pitchers walked 13 and committed two wild pitches in a 7-2 loss to second-seeded Oklahoma State.

The Red Raiders (32-25) improved to 1-1 in tournament play following Tuesday’s win over Texas. They will play Cincinnati in an elimination game Thursday at 4 p.m. The Bearcats eliminated the Longhorns from the tournament early Wednesday.

Gavin Kash hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning, closing the gap to 4-2. Tech used three pitchers in the bottom of the inning. Carson Baugh walked the first two batters. Derek Bridges struck out one batter, Cole Kearse walked the next two batters, and catcher Gavin Kash’s throw completed the comeback.

Oklahoma State scored on three bases-loaded walks, two wild pitches and a two-run home run by Zach Ehrhardt in the bottom of the first inning.

The Red Raiders have lost 12 of their last 15 games.

Drew Woodcox had three strikeouts, and TJ Pompey and Cade McGee each had two punchouts.

Zach Erdmann had a decent night on the mound, allowing six hits and three runs in four innings, walking three and striking out four. Tech used eight pitchers in the game, three of whom faced just one batter each.
