Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday, May 23, launched a scathing attack on the opposition, calling them ‘Bayaanvir’.

Maurya claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies are set to achieve their target of winning 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha elections. did.

President Maurya refers to his opponents from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Indian National Congress as ‘bhayanvirs’, hinting at rising political tensions in the state ahead of elections. did.

“We are aiming to win 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its alliance will achieve that goal. Be it SP, BSP or Congress, They are all “bayanvir”. ”

Meanwhile, Congress leader KC Venugopal expressed full confidence that the party would win back Congress strongholds Amethi and Raebareli with a thumping majority. ANI quoted Venugopal as saying, “We will secure Raebareli with a thumping majority and we will win back Amethi. Both the seats will go back to the Congress. The ground reports are clear.”

The two most important constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are Amethi and Raebareli, where voting has ended. Smiriti Irani, the BJP candidate from Amethi and the sitting MP, defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi, the Indian National Congress candidate running from Raebareli, a seat previously held by his mother Sonia Gandhi, is the sitting MP from Wayanad and is seeking a second term in this election. .

According to local reports, Venugopal claimed that the Indian National Congress will retain half of the seats in Uttar Pradesh, significantly reducing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s seat count in the state.

“The reports on the ground are very clear. We are going to reduce the number of seats held by the BJP in Uttar Pradesh drastically. We are going to win at least half of the seats in Uttar Pradesh,” he said. Ani He quoted KC Venugopal as saying.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Indian National Congress and the Samajwadi are part of the Indian Union, the BJP is contesting the elections in alliance with regional parties, and the BSP is also contesting alone.

Uttar Pradesh is voting in seven phases and has the most number of MPs, with 80, in the parliament. The votes will be counted on June 4.
