SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday slammed the Indian National Congress for not fulfilling its promise of providing 100,000 jobs to the youth of Himachal Pradesh and said the party’s Tarabaz Sarkar had blocked the state employees selection commission.

Addressing a Vijay Sankalp Party rally in Nahan, Sirmaur to rally support for BJP candidate Suresh Kashyap in the Shimla Lok Sabha constituency, the Prime Minister also said sectarianism, casteism and dynastic politics were common among the Indian National Congress and its allied parties.

Neither Nahan nor Sirmaur are new places to me but I must say that the atmosphere today is refreshing as I have never witnessed such a historic gathering in Nahan.

“I have come here not for myself or my family but for the sake of the developed nation to seek your blessings for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s third term in power,” Modi told the rally.

He said the people of Himachal Pradesh living along the border know the value of a strong nation.

PM Modi slammed the BJP over the dissolution of the Himachal Pradesh State Personnel Selection Commission (HPSSC) and said that instead of providing 100,000 jobs to the youth, the BJP’s ‘Talabaz Sarkar’ had blocked the recruitment board.

In February last year, the state government led by Chief Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sukh had dissolved the HPSSC, which had ceased functioning in December 2022 after documents were found to have been leaked.

Modi also accused the Indian National Congress of taking away reservation rights from Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and giving them to Muslims.
