The Biden administration is reportedly concerned about a military alliance between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and NBC News, citing six senior officials, said the US is preparing for an offensive in the months before the November 2024 elections, as Washington suspects North Korea is rapidly building up its nuclear arsenal.

The Biden administration is reportedly concerned about a military alliance with the Russian president. Vladimir Putin and north koreaof Kim Jong-unThe US is preparing for an offensive just months before the November 2024 elections, NBC News reported, citing six senior officials, and it comes as Washington suspects North Korea is rapidly building up its nuclear arsenal.

The report further added, citing US officials, that President Biden is concerned about the possibility of provocative military action by North Korea, possibly at the behest of President Putin. NBC’s sources said the conflict could disrupt the 2024 election, with voters choosing between President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

“There’s no question that North Korea will be provocative this year. The question is just how much it escalates,” a U.S. intelligence official said, according to NBC News.

US officials have repeatedly condemned Russia North Korea threatened to interfere in the 2016 presidential election when Trump defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit North Korea within weeks, and officials believe the two countries may solidify a new agreement to expand military technology transfers. In return, Pyongyang would continue to supply weapons to Moscow to support the war in Ukraine.

“Just recently, we expressed concerns in very urgent terms about what China is doing to strengthen Russia’s military — not by providing weapons directly, but by providing input to Russia’s defense industrial base,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters this week. “That is happening. That is something we are concerned about.”
