This spring, three-star outside linebacker Anthony “Deuce” Williams of Shadow Creek in Pearland, Texas, withdrew his four-month commitment to Texas, and now, nearly two months later, Williams has committed to a new program.
On Friday night, Williams announced his commitment to the TCU Horned Frogs.
The Horned Frogs were a team on a roll after Williams turned down a place at the University of Texas, but now the Forth Worth-based team is winning. Williams has 20 offers in total.
Speaking with Rivals, Williams elaborated on his commitment to the Horned Frogs.
“Ken Wilson He recruited me from the time I got to Texas and he never stopped recruiting me, so that’s probably one of the main reasons why I got to Texas. [to commit] And the connection with the whole staff is also important. I have a great connection with all the staff.”
“I’ve been to TCU a few times, both before the new staff came and before the old staff came and they were great people. TCU is a great place, a great school and a great education.”
Williams is 6’3″ tall and weighs 190 pounds, giving him great positional versatility. He has shown ability in pass rushing, flat coverage and run defense. With his added weight, he is considering playing as a more traditional linebacker.
“[TCU] Teams will move me to different types of positions depending on their offensive strategy. Sometimes they’ll put me in the mic position, but they’ll move me to different positions. I can play the outside position with them as well, so that’s a real plus.”
A Houston area native, Williams will be moving just four hours north to Fort Worth, and he said TCU’s location played a big role in choosing the Horned Frogs.
“I’m really lucky to still be in my hometown in Texas, so just being close to my family and having them come out to watch my games plays a big role.”
TCU has been Williams’ top choice to enroll since he began his recruitment, but the idea of TCU accepting him had entered his mind even before then.

When that happened, I felt something click in my head that they were really recruiting me hard and they wanted me to come to TCU.”
