Eagle Rock unleashed a 16-hit offense to beat Monroe, 12-8, in the City Section Division II baseball championship Friday night at Stengel Field in Glendale.
The Eagles led 5-1 after the second inning but then trailed 8-5, but rallied to score five runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull away.
Leading the hit parade were sophomore Jayden Jimenez with three hits and two RBIs, and sophomore Aiden Encarnacion with three hits. Enrique Camberos also added two hits and two RBIs. Sophomore Jake Sugi was the relief pitcher, pitching two scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
Monroe got two hits and three RBI from Aaron Beltran and three RBI from Cesar Rojas.
Division III
University 2, Lincoln 0: Adrian Ambriz and Payton Grau pitched three-hit shutouts in the City Division III championship game at Stengel Field. Ambriz struck out six and walked no batters over five innings, and Grau earned the save by pitching a three-strike called batter with three outs and two counts in the seventh inning.
Wilson Gonzalez and Isaac Greenberg each contributed a goal for University.
