Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Sabah and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have agreed to visit Pakistan at the invitation of their country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Radio Pakistan It was reported on Sunday.
The development was reportedly revealed during Shehbaz’s two separate meetings in Islamabad with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Nasser Abdulrahman Jasser Al-Mutairi and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al Khater.
“During his meeting with the prime minister, the Kuwaiti ambassador presented a letter from the Emir of Kuwait expressing his intention to visit Pakistan on a mutually agreed date,” the report said.
After receiving the letter, the prime minister highlighted a recent exchange he had with the Kuwaiti emir on the sidelines of a special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh last month.
According to reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz also expressed happiness over the meeting of the Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Committee to be held in Kuwait from May 28-30.
Meanwhile, during his meeting with the prime minister, the Qatari envoy also handed over a letter from the country’s emir in which he said the prime minister had accepted an invitation to pay an official visit to Pakistan on a “mutually agreed date”.
“The Prime Minister underscored Pakistan’s deep appreciation of its historic and friendly relations with Qatar and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation between the two brotherly countries,” the report said.
