PM: Pakistan’s support to opposition Netas should be investigated | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Modi has expressed “shock and surprise” that opposition party Neta has received support from Pakistan and said the trend is a “serious issue” that requires a “thorough investigation”.In an interview to news agency IANS, the prime minister said, “I don’t know why those who are hostile towards us are showing favour towards a particular person.”

The prime minister was replying to a question about former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry’s support for Arvind Kejriwal. Chaudhry had earlier expressed admiration for Rahul Gandhi.

“We have created a new image and brand for India,” says PM Modi
On May 25, Pakistan’s Fawad Chaudhry replied to Kejriwal’s X post, posting a message to Kejriwal saying, “May peace and harmony defeat the forces of hatred and extremism.” In his X post, Kejriwal was quick to distance himself from support from across the border, saying Indians are capable of solving their own problems.

On May 1, Chaudhry wrote on X, “Rahul is on fire,” tagging a video in which the Wayanad MP was criticising the BJP and Modi in particular. This drew a harsh response from the BJP, which called it a clear example of “Congress’s flirtation with Pakistan”.

PM Modi also said that the Taj Mahal is not the only tourist destination in India that foreigners should visit, adding that there are other tranquil and picturesque places waiting to be explored. “You should not feel that you have seen the whole of India just by visiting the Taj Mahal. India has huge potential and there are many destinations to explore,” he added.

The Prime Minister said his government had successfully made efforts to forge a new image and brand for India and to make global powers “interested” in India and its diversity by hosting a series of G20 summits across the country.

PM Modi said the UPI facility played a vital role in India’s fight against COVID-19 at a time when several richer countries were facing problems. “Who knows how we would have fought COVID-19 without UPI? Even rich countries could not provide money to their people despite having adequate funds. We gave money easily to those in need,” PM Modi said.

“Today, we can send money to 110 million farmers within 30 seconds. UPI is now user-friendly, thanks to talented young people who are creating world-class products that can be used by any common man,” he added.
