Graphic tees are a favorite part of my closet. YearI’m 100% sure this is a direct result of my graphic design background (obviously), but there’s no easier way to make an outfit more interesting than adding a cool graphic tee.
Currently, we are seeing a shift away from band tees, black graphic tees, and the edgy graphic tees that I love. Instead, the graphic tee trend is moving in a direction that is a bit more colorful and aspirational. A style of graphic tee that has caught my eye lately is the collegiate sporty style.

How to wear graphic tees this summer

I especially love pairing these sporty tees with pastel colors (pale pink, blue, taupe, etc.). This slightly preppy combination is a bit feminine and summery. funPlus, a sporty graphic tee adds an edgy vibe to relaxed linen pants.
Outfit 1: Sporty graphic tee + pastel pink pants

I absolutely love this combination, it’s what inspired me to make this post. Pale pink is really trendy right now and I’m not a fan of bright pinks, but right now I want all the pretty, pale pinks please.
Give me some pale pink jeans: These jeans from Scotch & Soda are stretchy, comfortable, and have rolled up hems for a trendy look. They’re under $150 and come in the perfect color. They fit true to size, and are not thin but not too heavy, making them perfect for milder temperatures or when you want to turn up the air conditioning.
…and pale pink Birks: How many pairs of Birkenstock Arizona Big Buckles is too many? Well, I’m not the one to ask, but these beautiful pink pair are my 3rd pair (4th if you include the regular Arizonas) and I don’t care who knows. They are the best sandals for my problematic feet (wide toe box, hereditary bunions) and the pale color is so pretty. So beautiful and that pretty brass buckle is my favorite of 2024.

My favourite rugby t-shirt: The t-shirt I’m wearing is just the right amount of oversized, easy to style in black and white, and super cool and breezy to wear. It’s from Nordstrom brand EDIKTED, and as far as I know, the brand always has great, on-trend pieces at affordable prices. The relaxed fit, big number, and football-style cut with dropped shoulders make this t-shirt feel current and fresh.
What about that cute bag? Yes, MZ Wallace. I love it. Unlike the big quilted bags that I don’t use every day, this cute size is perfect for my everyday needs. The nylon fabric used in this bag is incredibly soft. The leather details give it a premium feel and the color pairs so well with the summery pastel colors. It has a denim handbag vibe but it’s not actually denim (easy to clean). I highly recommend it.
Outfit 2: Sporty graphic tee + loose linen pants

This outfit is the epitome of comfort, yet on-trend and summery and fun. I love the mix of pastels in the sporty top and hat, but details like the loose linen pants and pink burgundy give the sporty look a feminine edge.

I don’t love all summer clothes, but I do love loose linen pants.And these striped linen boxer-style pants are just… flowy. They’re so comfortable and effortless and look even better in person. Several people on the team love them. I plan on wearing them for everyday wear and as a cute throw-on for beach or pool days.
I did cuff the bottoms as they were quite long (I’m 5’4″). So So worth it (and don’t forget you can order it at Nordstrom if you need it!). The fit is a little large, which I love – I’m wearing my usual medium here.

Outfit 3: Sporty graphic tee + soft cargo shorts

For the sake of versatility, I also wanted to include an additional photo of this graphic tee paired with shorts. I am not a fan of shorts, but I will admit that sometimes they are necessary.
Okay, shorts.: These cargo shorts are made of washed fabric and are very soft, and the length is just right for this outfit (it looks like you’re wearing pants lol). They’re great. Medium is Tiny They run a little small for me, but I feel like they will stretch as I wear them. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size.
