Orlando, Florida – A shift in wind direction on Thursday will continue the gradual cooling trend into the weekend.

Central Florida Weather Forecast

A weak front will remain stationary across the southern part of the region through Friday, bringing scattered showers into the afternoon in Osceola and Brevard counties, with rain and storm coverage minimal at 20%.

High temperatures Thursday afternoon will again reach the mid 90s F inland and the lower 90s along the coast.

High pressure will take full control of the region Friday into the weekend, bringing stronger northeasterly winds (15-20 mph).

An early ocean breeze will finally bring some relief from the heat, with highs in the upper 80s F across the region, but there will still be enough dry air to bring some unseasonable dry rain.

Tropical Update

The National Hurricane Center has been monitoring multiple tropical waves in the Atlantic and Caribbean this week, and while tropical waves are common this time of year, they’re a reminder that the tropics are beginning to wake up as hurricane season officially begins on Saturday.

As of Thursday morning, no significant tropical weather changes were expected over the next week.
