Kareena Kapoor witnesses Ashoka makeup craze and thinks it’s ‘iconic’ | Bollywood

Actress Kareena Kapoor recently opened up about her thoughts on the all-time popular TikTok and Instagram trend “Ahsoka.” In an interview with Grazia India, she called the trend “iconic” and shared how she pulled off the look from the film “Ahsoka.” (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor’s Bvlgari event outfit gives us a Margot Robbie deja vu. “It was really cool.”

Kareena spoke to the magazine on the sidelines of a recent Bvlgari event, and when asked what she thought of the Ashoka trend, she said, “I think it’s amazing because even 20 years later it’s still so iconic. It was iconic when we were actually doing it. Getting tattoos, getting eyes. We just didn’t think about it at all back then. We knew even back then that this was going to be groundbreaking in some way.”

Kareena added that she wanted her character, Kaurwaki, to be edgy without being covered in makeup. “We wanted to give her something a little more edgy and different. There is no makeup on my face. There are just designs around my eyes, not a drop of makeup. I don’t know if people will believe it. It was just so cool to be 22 and have tattoos all over my face.”

Ashoka Beauty Trends

This beauty trend took Instagram and TikTok by storm for a while this year, when beauty bloggers, who are makeup gurus, started doing their makeup to the song “Sant Sanana” from Santosh Sivan’s Asoka. They created short transitional videos in which they showed their bare faces, then Kareena’s trademark face tattoos, and finally showed off Indian bridal makeup. Both the song and the look went viral across the globe.

Future plans

Kareena was last seen in Crew opposite Tabu and Kriti Sanon. She will also be seen in Hansal Mehta’s Buckingham Murders, which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival last year, as well as Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, co-starring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
