India vs Pakistan has always been and always will be the most eagerly awaited match in cricket. The two Asian powerhouses will face off again in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

As the United States prepares for the generous match, the preparations for the India vs Pakistan match have already begun. The stories, interviews and mind games have begun, at least from the Pakistani side.

Captain Babar Azam spoke about Pakistan’s performance against India in the ODI World Cup 2023. Azam praised his players for their efforts against their arch rivals.

It was a one-sided victory for India but Azam could only think of the positives as India went on to win by eight wickets with 117 balls to spare.

What happened in the India vs Pakistan match in the ODI World Cup 2023?

Batting first, Pakistan were bowled out for 191 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after a comprehensive performance from India’s bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj – each picked up two wickets.

In reply, skipper Rohit Sharma put in a captain-like performance, scoring 83 off just 62 balls. Partnering him was Shreyas Iyer, who remained scoreless on 53.

Final result: India wins by 7 wickets

What did Babar Azam say about Pakistan vs India’s performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup?

Pakistan captain Babar Azam spoke about his team’s efforts against India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Though they suffered a crushing defeat against their arch rivals, the Pakistan captain was highly appreciative of his team’s efforts in the match.

Azam also reminded the media that fans had praised the team’s efforts on a night when nothing worked in their favour.

“We played some really good cricket against India in the World Cup 2023 and were appreciated by the fans. Though we lost, we performed really well against India,” Babar told reporters ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
