LS Voting Live: Nearly 50% voting recorded by 3 pm in 57 constituencies in seventh phase | Lok Sabha Election News

The Election Commission of India (EC) announced that voter turnout in the seventh and final round of the Indian Lok Sabha elections was recorded at 49.68 percent by 3 pm on Saturday.

Voting is taking place in 57 constituencies across seven states and the union territory of Chandigarh, including Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a third consecutive term in the Indian parliament.

Besides Chandigarh, voting is underway in all 13 seats in Punjab, four in Himachal Pradesh, 13 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, six in Odisha and three in Jharkhand. Voting is also underway for the remaining 42 constituencies in Odisha and by-polls for six seats in Himachal Pradesh.

According to the Election Commission’s voter turnout app, the voter turnout till 3 pm was around 49.68%.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday completed an unprecedented 45-hour meditation session on a tranquil beach in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister performed ‘Surya Argya’ at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at sunrise, officials said. PM Modi performed ‘Surya Argya’, a ritual associated with spiritual practices that involves saluting the almighty God in the form of the Sun.

According to the Election Commission of India (EC), voter turnout in the seventh and final phase of the Indian Lok Sabha elections, which took place as of 1 pm on Saturday, June 1, was 40.09 percent. Voting is underway in 57 constituencies across seven states and the union territory of Chandigarh. Voting is also underway in Varanasi, a key parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a third consecutive term in the Indian Lok Sabha.

Voting in Uttar Pradesh for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections began at 7 a.m. on Saturday, with turnout at 28.02 percent by 11 a.m., according to data from the Election Commission of India (ECI), news agency PTI reported. Citizens are voting in 13 constituencies in the state, including Varanasi, a key seat where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a third consecutive term in the Lok Sabha.
