Pakistan, June 2: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has strongly rejected a reconciliation offer from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor, saying the party will not hold talks with “power thieves”, ARY News reported.
Reacting to an offer for dialogue by Petroleum Minister and PML-N leader Musadiq Malik and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, a PTI spokesman said the offer was absurd coming from people who “have neither the authority nor the credibility” to mediate.
Those who promised to hold talks were “imposed with a false mandate,” a PTI official said.
“State criminals have no right to take decisions in the national interest and there is no room for reconciliation,” the official added, according to ARY News.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muttahida Qaumi Movement are examples of “power thieves” with whom the PTI has made it clear it will not negotiate.
“Instead of spreading offers for talks without authority, this power-thieving group should apologise to the people and return power to its true representatives,” the PTI spokesman said.
Earlier, Oil Minister Usadique Malik had said the PML-N leadership had consistently advocated dialogue and reconciliation and the door was always open to politics.
At a press conference, he said, “Our party’s [PML-N] The leadership has always stressed the need for an economic and democratic charter.”
The minister further said that the party aims to move forward with all political factions. Malik further said that all PML-N leaders including Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Khawaja Asif and Shehbaz Shehbaz were jailed by the PTI-led government.
He lamented the PTI’s “double standards” on dialogue and claimed it was not interested in holding talks with the PML-N. (News Agency)
