Georgia Tech beat the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in a weather-postponed first game and will now face in-state rival the University of Georgia in the regional final. The Yellow Jackets need to beat the Bulldogs twice to advance to the super regional final. If they win tonight, it will be a winner-take-all game tomorrow for the right to advance.

Here is the lineup the Yellow Jackets will use:

1. First baseman Cam Jones

2. CF Drew Burress

3. DH Matthew Ellis

4. 3B John Giesler

5. RF Bobby Zmalzlak

6. 2B Mike Beckett

7. SS Peyton Green

8. LF Parker Brosius

9. C. Van Lackey

Mason Patel will be on the mound for the Yellow Jackets today.

TOP – Georgia scores two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead over Georgia Tech.

BOTTOM – Burress triples and then Ellis gets an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.

Top of the 1st – Patel strikes out and grounds out to end the top of the 1st. Georgia leads 2-1.

BOTTOM – Becquetty doubled to lead off the inning, then Green walked to put runners on second for Georgia Tech. After Brosius struck out, Van Lackey hit a two-run homer to give Georgia Tech a 4-2 lead.

Jones then singled, Ellis reached base on an error, and Giesler then singled to give Georgia Tech a 5-2 lead going into the third inning.

Top Patel pitched and the Bulldogs lost 1-2-3. Georgia Tech was leading 5-2 in the bottom of the third inning.

LOWER – Georgia Tech’s offense loses 1-2-3. Georgia Tech still leads 5-2 going into the fourth inning.

TOP SIDE – Patel struck out one batter, but that was Georgia’s only runner in the fourth inning. Georgia Tech was leading 5-2 going into the bottom of the fourth.

BOTTOM – Burress walked, but Ellis grounded out to end the inning. Georgia Tech led 5-2 after the fifth inning.
