It’s been a special week for Robert McIntyre.
The Scottish left-hander, seeking his first PGA Tour victory, added his father, Dougie, as his caddie at the last minute this week, and the father-son duo proved a solid pairing, with MacIntyre concluding his week north of the border with a one-stroke victory over France’s Victor Perez.
Bobby Mack opened the week with a 64 and then shot two straight 66s to hold a four-stroke lead after 54 holes, becoming just the fifth golfer to hold such a lead on the PGA TOUR this season.
Canada’s Mackenzie Hughes shared the lead after the first nine holes Sunday, but MacIntyre clawed back to within four strokes at the turn and shot a final-round 68 to finish at 16 under par to become just the fifth Scotsman to win on the PGA Tour since 1940. He joins compatriots Sandy Lyle, Paul Lawrie, Martin Laird and Russell Knox.
McIntyre extended his lead to five points with a 21-foot birdie on the 11th hole, becoming the first player to win a PGA Tour event with his father caddying for him since Heath Slocum won the 2005 Sanderson Farms Championship with his father, Jack, and the 16th left-handed player to win a PGA Tour event.
Bogeys on the 12th and 13th cut the lead to two strokes, but McIntyre held strong until the end, including a birdie on the 15th. Perez drilled an 11-foot birdie from right to left on the 18th to finish the final round with a bogey-free 64 for a career-best runner-up finish. Rory McIlroy and Tom Kim also tied for third with 64s.
But MacIntyre has been in good form with three top 15 finishes in his last five starts, including a tie for eighth at the PGA Championship. He has two DP World Tour wins and represented Team Europe at the Ryder Cup. He was in the running to win the British Open in 2019 and 2021, as well as the PGA Championship in 2024.

Other 54-hole four-stroke leaders who have won this season include Jake Knapp in the Mexican Open at Vidanta, Akshay Bhatia in the Valero Texas Open, Chris Gotterup in the Myrtle Beach Classic and Davis Riley in the Charles Schwab Challenge a week ago.
McIntyre won the championship at Hamilton Golf and Country Club, taking home $1,638,000 in prize money and 500 FedEx Cup points.
