Trend Micro announced on Sunday that it is collaborating with AI chip giant Nvidia to develop new artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity tools to protect AI data centers.

Trend Micro plans to unveil the tools on Sunday at its Computex conference in Taiwan. The tools are designed to help ensure that only those authorized to access data can see it and to detect intrusions. The tools are designed to run on Nvidia chips.

Many businesses are training AI systems to assist employees with HR and customer service-related tasks. But to make this happen, they often consolidate data from different departments within the company into one place, attracting the attention of hackers who want to target the systems.

Trend Micro is committed to ensuring that data in AI systems is safe from eavesdropping and identifying intrusions by hackers. Most chatbots today allow users to communicate with the bot by asking them questions, but these questions often contain sensitive data such as confidential customer information or trade secrets.

Google’s AI Cybersecurity Partnership

Trend Micro’s latest AI cybersecurity venture joins a range of tech giants using AI in cybersecurity: Google Cloud and CrowdStrike recently collaborated to improve cybersecurity using Mandiant’s managed detection and response (MDR) and incident response (IR) services by combining Google Cloud Security Operations with the CrowdStrike Falcon platform.

The partnership will leverage CrowdStrike’s endpoint detection and response (EDR), identity threat detection and response (ITDR), and exposure management solutions.

A 75% year-over-year increase in cloud intrusions highlights the need for efficient cybersecurity solutions, with CrowdStrike saying that attackers are rapidly increasing their attack speed, allowing them to penetrate customer environments within minutes.

The company also said combating these modern dangers requires a security approach that is intuitive, reduces complexity and empowers security and DevOps teams.

The agreement is designed to combine Google Cloud’s AI-powered services with Google Cloud’s security operations platform and CrowdStrike’s advanced protection capabilities to help users prevent breaches across cloud environments.

An important step forward in cybersecurity

CrowdStrike Chief Operating Officer Daniel Bernard said the company’s technology was essential to preventing intrusions at critical moments in an attack.

He emphasized that CrowdStrike’s single platform, single agent architecture makes it incredibly easy and fast to deploy and provides superior protection. Bernard sees the expanded partnership with Google Cloud as a revolutionary development for cybersecurity.

Mandiant’s incident response and managed detection and response services will now be able to leverage Falcon in conjunction with Google Cloud’s security operations platform, combining best-in-class technology and expert insight to provide organizations with critical breach prevention capabilities.

The partnership spans the deployment of CrowdStrike Falcon in support of Google Chronicle, the Hyperscale Security Operations platform, Mandiant Managed Defense, and Mandiant Consulting.
