Several exit polls have predicted a landslide victory for Narendra Modi’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Another victory would cement Modi’s status as one of India’s most popular and important leaders. It would follow a landslide victory in 2019, when the BJP won an absolute majority with 303 seats. The Congress Party won just 52.
Stock benchmarks Sensex and Nifty soared nearly 4% at the open on Monday to hit fresh all-time highs after exit polls projected a landslide victory for the BJP-led NDA in India’s Lok Sabha elections.
