The United States cricket team recorded a dramatic Super Over victory in a shocking victory over powerhouse Pakistan at the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup in Dallas on Thursday.
This thrilling victory was the biggest in the history of US cricket and one of the biggest upsets in the sport of cricket.
The United States will co-host the World Cup with the West Indies for the first time.
Pakistan, the runner-up in the 2022 tournament, is ranked sixth in the world, while the U.S. team is ranked 18th.
Nitish Kumar hit a match-saving boundary to force a super over, much to the delight of the US fans at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium.
In the tie-breaking over, the U.S. posted a competitive score of 18 points.

Saurabh Netravalkar took the ball for the USA and restricted the Pakistani batsmen to 13 to seal the victory.
USA captain Monank Patel batted first for his team and was named man of the match.
“I’m proud of the players,” Patel said after the win.
The United States also had a successful start to the tournament, defeating Canada in their opening match of Group A and currently leading the group with four points.

India, also in Group A, are one of the favourites to win the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup.
Pakistan will take on arch rivals India in New York on Sunday.
The USA’s final two Group A matches are against India and Ireland.
