In this particular episode No cap spaceYahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Jake Fisher was at TD Garden after the Boston Celtics won Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and Yahoo Sports senior NBA writer Dan Devine was in the office to do a podcast about what just happened.
They talked about how dominant the Boston Celtics were, specifically how their defense slowed Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and then put the spotlight on Kristaps Porzingis.
Porzingis was the “X-factor” everyone was looking at heading into the NBA Finals, and he proved exactly why by coming off the bench and dominating the second half of the first quarter to give the Celtics a blowout lead over the Dallas Mavericks.
Jake gives a positive compliment to Sam Hauser, who played a big role in Game 1 despite many expecting him to be run off the court by the Mavericks, and then a negative compliment to Maxi Kleber, who can’t keep the defense honest if he’s not making shots.
Coming off Game 1 and before the series heads to Dallas, we discuss adjustments the Mavericks can make to catch up with the Celtics in a very important Game 2.
