Lucknow:
Following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) disappointing performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today convened a meeting of all ministers.
The meeting began at 11 am at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow. The Prime Minister directed all ministers to attend the meeting.
The main agenda of the meeting will include a thorough review of the work of the ministries and agencies under the ministers’ charge.
Additionally, a detailed discussion will be held on the feedback received from the public with a view to identifying and addressing any governance issues that may have influenced the election outcome.
Moreover, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will review the recruitment process for the vacant posts in another meeting scheduled at 6 pm.
He will meet officials from various boards and recruitment committees including UPPCL, UPSC Sub-City Selection Board and Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
The impressive performance of the Indian Alliance led by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has dealt a major blow to the BJP-led NDA’s target of securing 400 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
While the BJP had won 71 and 62 seats in the 2014 and 2019 general elections respectively, this time it managed to bag just 33 seats. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party bagged 37 seats and the Indian National Congress won six.
Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had announced that ‘janta darshan’, which was suspended for the last two months in Uttar Pradesh following the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for elections, would resume from Thursday.
According to a release from the Prime Minister’s Office, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit people every day from 9 am to 2 pm to hear their problems and also issue immediate instructions to officials for remedial measures.
This initiative will give the people of the state an opportunity to report their problems to the Chief Minister and also provide immediate relief.
