“India vs Pakistan. New continent, same result,” Sachin Tendulkar posted on X after India’s six-run win over Pakistan in the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup. He went on to congratulate the entire team for their “fantastic” performance in the US.
He added: “T20 may be a batsman’s game but in New York today the bowlers were the standout performers for us.”
“It was truly a thrilling match! A great atmosphere and a fantastic game presented in America. Well done India,” Tendulkar further said.

India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup
The two arch rivals, India and Pakistan, played out a thrilling match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Pakistan won the coin toss and elected to bat first. They restricted the Men in Blue to 119 runs in 19 overs. Pakistan started well but ultimately fell short, with India winning by 6 runs.
India have two more matches to play in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the first of which is scheduled to take on hosts USA at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 12. They will then face Canada at the Central Broward Regional Park in Florida on June 15.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament is being hosted by the West Indies and the United States, marking the first time the US will host a World Cup.
The tournament began on 2 June with the first match between Canada and the USA, which the USA won by seven wickets. India played their first match against Ireland on 5 June and won by eight wickets.
The tournament is currently in the “Group Stage” and will move on to the “Super Eight” and eventually the semi-finals and finals.
