Celebrities are often the first to adopt new trends and styles, and the latest trend might trick you out on the street. It seems that a once-popular style of sweatpants that look just like jeans is making a comeback. The style is clever and has some celebrities as its stalwarts, including Sports Illustrated cover model and occasional character actress Paulina Porizkova.
actual, Bull The guest star wore Rag & Bone jeans when they were first released about 10 years ago, but unfortunately they went out of fashion so she had to search the second-hand market for new pairs. Then, just two years ago, Rag & Bone brought back the Miramar line and she was quick to snap it up.
Why am I so happy? Because Rag & Bone has finally brought back “jeans,” which are actually sweatpants. I bought a pair seven years ago and they are the most worn and treasured item in my closet. I wear them every time I get on a plane. I once bought another pair on eBay, but they were too small. So you can imagine how happy I was when they brought them back, in a few different styles and washes.
Porizkova wrote about her favorite pants on Instagram, but it wasn’t an advertisement. She just really loves the look. And others agree. In fact, pants are going to be huge in 2024. The Wall Street Journal In a recent feature on the fashion, one fan told the outlet that the look was a “conversation starter” at parties. Influencer Samantha Chan told the outlet:
It’s a great conversation starter – people are so surprised to find out that these are actually sweatpants.
You’re probably wondering if denim-look printed sweatpants can really look like the real thing. I was too. But this is no exaggeration. They look good and they’re comfortable. Check out the full styling by Paulina Porizkova in the post below.
Celebrity trends run the gamut from “no pants” on the red carpet to wild pants-with-shoes looks at events, so pairing sweatpants with jeans isn’t the craziest thing we’ve seen in celeb fashion. It’s also not the most expensive: The aforementioned Balenciaga Panta shoes cost thousands of dollars; the Miramar pants are a few hundred at most.
Sure, it’s still a little pricey for all budgets, but one thing I’ve learned is that once a celebrity trend catches on, it generally catches on at all price points. So if you’re looking for a comfortable alternative to your usual denim style, keep your eyes peeled. You might find a pair of sweatpants that are just right for you. In fact, I know Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty sweatpants might be a perfect fit.
