As the Pakistan cricket team fights to stay in the T20 World Cup 2024, Umar Akmal, one of the stars left out of the squad, has been trending on social media. With many Pakistani stars facing criticism for their poor performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup, Umar shared a post in which he flaunts his abs. Fitness has traditionally been one of the weaker points of Pakistani cricketers and many of their current stars, especially Azam Khan, have been criticised for their poor fitness standards.

Umar, who has been out of the Pakistan national team for a long time, decided to show off his abs on social media to demonstrate his fitness level and silence those who think he was left out of the national team due to ill health.

However, fans were not quick to believe Umar’s photo, with some saying the abs in the picture were fake, while others said they were “AI generated”. Some even went so far as to correct Umar’s English.Below are some reactions:

The current Pakistan team has faced heavy criticism for their poor performance in the two matches completed so far, in fact Pakistan legend Wasim Akram has called for them to abandon the current squad and form a new one.

“Enough is enough. We need a change now. We need to bring in six to seven new players in the team and support them so that even if we lose, we grow as a team. It’s time for the PCB chairman to take a bold step,” he said. [of the team] “This guy’s not talking to that guy, that guy’s not talking to him. This was the best pitch New York has ever had. It wasn’t that hard. How hard was it to chase 120?” Akram said.
