The Los Angeles Rams and USA Football co-hosted a U.S. National Team Talent Identification Flag Football Camp on Saturday, May 18. The event included one-on-one competitions and drills, situational 5-on-5 scrimmages and a high-performance combine test.

More than 250 flag football players, ages 11-18, participated in a co-ed camp and were selected by national team scouts for the opportunity to participate in USA Football’s 2025 National Team Trials.

“This is a great opportunity to identify emerging talent,” USA Football CEO and executive director Scott Hallenbeck said.

Eight players were named MVPs over the two sessions. From Southern California to Mililani, Hawaii, to Thomasville, Georgia, the camp attracted flag football talent from across the country. The MVPs for the first session were William S. Hart High School sophomore Ava Irwin, Mililani High School sophomore Jaedon Pablo, seventh grader Zayden Packard from Queen Creek, Arizona, and sixth grader Elizabeth Schuster from Anaheim, California.

Pablo, a wide receiver and defensive back, traveled from Hawaii to attend the camp and said he was grateful to the coaches for preparing him to showcase his skills in front of USA Football and the Rams. “It shows what the coaches have taught me and how I’ve grown over the last few years.”

In the second session of camp, Leah Davis (Upland High School ’28), Allison Schmida (Clean Lutheran High School ’27), Haley Weatherspoon (Eagle Rock High School ’25) and Aaliyah Wood (Thomas University ’22) were named MVPs.

Weatherspoon was born and raised in Los Angeles and has lived in Eagle Rock his whole life. “I’ve been to tournaments and local events,” he said. [the Rams] We’ve been hosting them. It’s great to have big NFL teams come out to support our high school teams and our girls’ flag teams. [that are] Let’s go.”
