Did Anushka Sharma lose her cool during the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match? The internet is abuzz.

The T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan in New York on Sunday was a highly entertaining affair. It is not often that you see a team defend 119 runs in a T20I, but the Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma managed to do just that by restricting Pakistan to 113/7 in 20 overs. Pakistan’s top-order batsmen came close to victory but some brilliant performances from Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya helped India win by six runs.

Popular actress Anushka Sharma, wife of India’s star batsman Virat Kohli, was also in the stands. On Thursday, a video of the actress chatting animatedly with a crowd member went viral on social media. The video was said to have been shot during the India vs Pakistan match, but NDTV has not been able to verify its authenticity.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has downplayed the debate over star batsman Virat Kohli’s form amid a string of poor scores in the group stages of the T20 World Cup. Kohli, who scored one and four against Ireland and Pakistan respectively, was dismissed for a golden duck by Saurabh Netravalkar in the match against USA on Wednesday. The 35-year-old Kohli comes into the tournament fresh off a winning season with the Orange Cap in the IPL, where he scored over 700 runs for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Gavaskar, however, said there was no cause for concern regarding Kohli’s form, with the batsman adding that the veteran player just needed to be a bit more patient.

“The biggest motivation for a player is to win matches, especially when you are playing for your country. He has done well for India over the years and won a lot of matches and I think he is aware of that. We are still in the early stages of the tournament. There is the Super 8, the semi-finals and hopefully the final. All he needs to do is show patience and faith in himself and I think he has plenty of that,” Gavaskar told Star Sports after the match.
