It’s a somewhat subjective rating of the weather for that day on a scale of 0 to 10.

5/10A slightly muggy, but sunny and calm morning. Well above average heat and an approaching cold front will bring the possibility of late afternoon thunderstorms, some of which may be severe.

  • today: Strong storms possible in the afternoon.High temperatures: Around 90 to mid 90s.
  • tonight: Rain and strong storms still possible. Low temperatures: in the 60s.
  • tomorrow: Sunny, and breezy. High temperature: Around 85 degrees.
  • Sunday: Sunny. High around 85 degrees.

There will be a fair amount of sunshine in the morning and midday. So there will be a chance of showers and storms this afternoon and into tonight. Many areas will have rain but not much and others will have no rain. Some storms may turn into strong to severe winds with risk of damage mainly from isolated wind gusts. After today, it will be a great weekend. Then the temperature and humidity will rise and we will face a long heatwave next week and say goodbye to spring.

Today (Friday): Storms are possible this afternoon, but chances increase toward the evening. The main severe storm threat is damaging wind gusts with wind gusts exceeding 57 mph. A few hail showers are possible. Widespread damage is not expected. High summer-like temperatures (90s to mid-90s F) will feel a bit hotter with moderate humidity (dew points in the 60s F). Enjoy calm and sunny morning hours. Confidence: Medium to High

tonight: As this nasty cold front continues to move through the region, showers and storms are possible. Raindrops may linger until late at night as the front moves through. After that, the weather will gradually improve with a dry breeze from the northwest. Lows will be around 65 degrees. Reliability: Moderate

Tomorrow (Saturday): The sun will be shining. A fresh breeze from the north will pair well with temperatures nearing 85 degrees. Dew points will slowly climb back into the 50s, making it very comfortable but average for this time of year. Enjoy it while you can! Confidence: Medium to High

tomorrow night: By sunrise, temperatures will drop to the mid to high 60s. At night, with the windows open, dew points may still be in the comfortable 50s. There may be only a few high clouds in the sky. Reliability: Medium to High

Sunday: It will be mostly sunny with just a few clouds at times for a great Father’s Day. Winds will be a little cooler than Saturday. Temperatures may be a degree or two warmer than Saturday, but will still be around 85 degrees for most of the region. Comfortable weather will continue for the final day. Dew points will be in the 50s. Reliability: Medium to High

Sunday Night: Lows will drop into the 60s as humidity increases. This may be the last night below 70 degrees for a while. There’s a slight chance of rain, but we’ll let you know as we get closer if there’s an increased chance of overnight showers or storms. Confidence: Medium

Summer may come again Monday High temperatures may reach the near to mid 90s. We may see some strong June sunshine as humidity rises to uncomfortably high levels (above 60 dew point). Hopefully, there will be some wind at times. A few rain showers and storms can also be expected. Reliability: Medium

Possibly ‘brutal’ start to heat wave Tuesday A combination of heat and humidity could push the heat index above 100. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid 90s with dew points in the 60s and moderate humidity. Skies will tend to be mostly clear, but a disturbance could produce showers and storms from pre-dawn to mid-morning. We’ll be watching for more details as the weather gets closer to see if this event materializes. Confidence: Medium
