BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Tech men’s lacrosse team was recognized for its academic achievements with National Collegiate Lacrosse Association Team All-Academic awards, as announced June 13.
To receive this honor, a program must have a GPA of at least 3.00. Florida Tech is one of 28 NCAA Division II teams to receive the award, finishing the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.29.
A total of 15 Panthers who participated in the program recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA in the spring semester of 2024. Including those 15, a total of 27 men’s lacrosse scholarship athletes earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher through the spring semester.
Ricky Fedorchak, a graduate student studying space systems management, and Griffin Martin, who will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering in May 2024, were both named USILA Scholar All-Americans in an announcement made Thursday by the association.
Senior Austin Engeler received the Ashok and Kumkum Pandit Family Foundation Award at Florida Tech’s 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony.
The Ashok & Kumkum Pandit Family Endowment Award will be presented to one senior and one junior in the Civil Engineering program who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, have been selected as Student of the Year, and have met the following criteria: Demonstrated leadership in a student organization, sport, or ROTC Participated in an internship or cooperative program Performed volunteer work Participated in a research project.
In addition to Engeler, Byron Mariotti was also named Student of the Year for the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
Engeler (civil engineering) and JP Panchokian (mechanical engineering) were also recognized by Tech as Outstanding Student Scholars.
