While millennials might look back on this trend and shudder, these six idols prove that a more modern version of the trend can look amazing. Plus, there are so many variations on this style to match whatever cut you’re loving right now.

Gen Z icon Giselle of aespa is always at the forefront of fashion. Her side-swept bangs are a direct copy of the early 2000s style, but she keeps it from looking too tacky by adding some fun accessories. If you want to totally follow this trend, follow in Giselle’s footsteps.

If you’re looking to soften your side bangs a little, take a look at this tip from NMIXX’s Hyewon, who also loves growing out her existing bangs. By keeping the side part relatively subtle and adding volume at the roots, the style looks natural and effortless without looking too flat.
