Move over, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. Introducing the new it couple that people are obsessed with.

Well, they may not be an official couple yet, but there are certainly millions of people online who hope that they will be.

TikTok is currently captivated by the budding romance between Gabriela Gonzalez and Tyler Bergantino. The two social media personalities had great chemistry the moment they first met on camera, in a 2024 sort of way. The pair got to know each other through an interview-style video, in which they laughed and got cozy while sharing their experiences dating each other’s tall bodies. Gonzalez is 6’1″ without heels, and Bergantino is 6’9″.

The two videos, which garnered 30.4 million and 23.4 million views respectively, ended with Bergantino asking Gonzalez out on a date, while a follow-up video reminiscing about their first coffee date garnered 10.3 million views.

Gonzalez and Bergantino were just as giggling as they were in the original video during a joint interview with USA Today on Thursday morning. Though they were speaking via Zoom from different locations — Gonzalez from her bed, Bergantino from a car with their dog, Leia, in the passenger seat — the two couldn’t stop blushing and laughing when asked about their unexpected connection and how it played out online, where it was seen by millions.

“I’m a big believer in energy, and his energy complemented my energy,” Gonzalez says of what first drew him to Bergantino. “Even before we started recording, it was just so good, so easy, and we just clicked right away.”

“So, how tall are you?”

Gonzalez and Bergantino immediately hit it off over their height. They say dating a tall person isn’t easy. For Bergantino, many women want to date him simply because he’s tall. Gonzalez laments having dated men who were taller and shorter than her. “They were all awful.”

They say it’s rare to find someone who understands how they feel, and although people notice when they’re together, no relationship feels more normal to them.

“I don’t have to break my back to hold her,” Bergantino said. “Especially when she’s in heels, I can look her in the eye and I’m like… ‘OK, this is what normal feels like.'”

Although height came up in their first interview together, it’s rarely a topic of conversation off-camera, and they’ve helped each other overcome the little pain points that come with being tall, like slouching to make others feel more at ease.

“It’s amazing to have someone who gets that,” Gonzalez says. “It was so amazing. We watched our[first collaboration]video back and we were like, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen my posture look this good!’ We both stand tall and proud.”

TikTok just wants to watch Gabriela Gonzalez and Tyler Bergantino fall in love, and while the hot couple talks every day, they've only ever officially gone on one in-person date.

What’s it like dating with millions of people watching?

The attention and scrutiny of their relationship by millions of people online only served to bond them even more.

TikTok commenters are in love with their love story and just want to watch Bergantino and Gonzalez ride off into the digital sunset together. The couple say the support has been amazing. But it’s also a lot of pressure for a couple who’ve only ever been on one official, in-person date.

After meeting during an interview about height, Gabriela Gonzalez and Tyler Bergantino went on a coffee date together, and the two reflected on the experience in a video that has been viewed over 10 million times.

Though it was a strange and stressful experience, Gonzalez and Bergantino said they’re grateful they were able to get through it together.

“Honestly, she and I have talked a lot. It’s almost uncomfortable not to talk to her because it’s so overwhelming and there’s so much going on,” Bergantino said.

Gonzalez added that the two talk and FaceTime almost all day, every day, and that constant communication has become a lifeline for the couple.

Gonzalez said she’s still not used to strangers coming up to her and asking her how her relationship is going. When she starts to feel the pressure is too much, Bergantino helps calm her down. One night, when she was feeling particularly anxious, he serenaded her with his guitar until she fell asleep.

“He calms me down,” she says. “I’m normally a very anxious, neurotic, stubborn person, so I don’t even know why he does what to do or how to do it.”

As of now, Gonzalez and Bergantino have not “officially” confirmed their relationship. They are still talking and getting to know each other. They don’t know where their journey will take them, but they respect and cherish each other. They look forward to making videos that bring them both joy.

On Friday, Gonzalez will fly to South Carolina to meet Bergantino, marking their second official date together.

“I literally have an itinerary planned for this weekend that I’m not telling her about yet,” Bergantino said with a smile, as Gonzalez blushed. “I’m taking her to all my favorite places, all the things that I enjoy.”

Are “sparks” a warning sign?Sometimes. Experts say look for this in relationships instead

What will happen? You’ll just have to check out TikTok to find out the answer. If this is anything like their first date, people will be talking about it.

“The coolest thing about this show is we’re giving people hope,” Gonzalez says. “They say, ‘Wait a minute, this is better than The Bachelor,’ and we say, ‘Yeah, this is better than The Bachelor. This is real, this is real.'”
