Michael Vaughan gives funny two-word response on Pakistan’s T20 World Cup performance | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former England captain Michael Vaughan on Monday gave a hilarious two-word reply while rating Pakistan’s disastrous T20 World Cup campaign on a scale of one to ten.

Pakistan, the runners-up in the previous tournament, lost to co-hosts the United States in their opening match in their first appearance in the tournament, and then lost to arch rivals India, resulting in an early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup. Pakistan recorded their first win against Canada and then won against Ireland to finish the season in third place in Group A.

On “Super 8,” Vaughn mocked the Pakistani team while responding to a question posed by a Pakistani content creator: “X – How would you rate Pakistan’s World Cup performance on a scale of 1 to 10?”

“We have good players. We need to go home, discuss, see what our weaknesses are and then come back. We couldn’t close out close matches and it was not good for us as a team,” Pakistan captain Babar Azam said at the post-match presentation on Sunday.

Evaluating his team’s performance, Babar highlighted that the batting performance was below par, but acknowledged the strength of the bowling effort.

“We finished the game well. Our bowling took some early wickets. Our batting was not good but we batted well at the end and won the game. Our bowling was good and conditions were good for the fast bowlers. We made some mistakes in batting but we had a chance to beat USA and India. If the team wants me to open then I will, if they want me to bat at No. 3 then I will. If the team situation suits then I will,” Babar added.
