The Wolverines held their penultimate big freshman recruiting weekend of late spring, but one top prospect seemed to leave Ann Arbor feeling a little depressed — and like corn on the cob.
Brady Hart, a four-star 2026 quarterback out of Cocoa, Florida, is often compared to former Michigan football QB JJ McCarthy due to his 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame and a name that combines two Michigan legends, Tom Brady and Mike Hart. Notre Dame made a late push while Clemson got early exposure for the young playmaker, but judging by the reaction from recruiting circles, his unofficial visit clearly couldn’t have gone better.
Over at 247Sports, Tom Roy’s Clemson projection still stands, but on Monday night, Hart received three projections from the Michigan Insider staff that suggested he’ll be wearing a helmet with wings when it’s all said and done.
Additionally, while On3 initially projected Notre Dame and Clemson to win, four members of the network’s staff (EJ Holland, Zach Libby, Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons) projected Hart to join the Wolverines on Monday night, giving Hart a 62.8% chance of ending up in the maize and blue uniform.
Hart also heard predictions from Rivals’ Josh Henschke and John Garcia Jr.
Rivals is the highest rating for Hart, who is listed as the No. 42 prospect in the country regardless of position. Here’s how Hart is rated according to the recruiting service:

Scouting report from Andrew Ivins of 247Sports:
A modern pocket passer with advantageous size, he led his team to a Florida 2S title as a first-year starter. He is a driving ball thrower who can generate plenty of power by synchronizing his arms and legs. He has a slightly long release, but can get the ball out quickly, which he must do in a wide-open spread attack that wants to challenge him laterally with swing/screen passes. He first caught our eye in a game against nationally ranked St. Thomas Aquinas, where he took multiple two-balls to tight lines and exploited the coverage. We were also impressed with his timing, hitting the mark on schedule frequently. He is a little spotty at times and not the type to have many deep shots on the spray chart, but he looks like he could be a Power Four starter heading into his junior season, especially if he can continue to develop as a full-field leader.
Hart is the son of former MLB draft pick Alex Hart, who played at the University of Florida and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
If he commits immediately, he would be the first player in the Wolverines’ 2026 class.
