Speaker of the House Live: How will the Speaker election be conducted?
After a general election and the formation of a new government, a temporary Speaker is appointed to administer the oath to new members. This position is usually chosen from the most senior member of the House of Representatives. The election of the Speaker of the House takes place under the supervision of the temporary Speaker. After a general election, the government and opposition parties work together to nominate a candidate for Speaker. The Prime Minister or Minister of Parliamentary Affairs then formally proposes the name of the candidate, which is then unanimously approved.
But this time there may be an election.

The election for the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be held on June 26. The date for the election is announced by the Office of the President of India. However, the selection of the Deputy Speaker is the prerogative of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.

Speaker of the House 2024 Live: Will the Opposition field a candidate?
If the government does not agree to provide the post of Deputy Speaker, the opposition Indian Union party can choose to field a candidate for Speaker, a post traditionally held by the Leader of the Opposition. However, in previous Houses of Parliament, there has been no such post. The rules do not require the House to have a Deputy Speaker.
