With the 2023-24 NBA season now over, the basketball world is now turning all its attention to the 2024 Paris Olympics, which could be very interesting for the men’s side.
The U.S. team is seeking its fifth Olympic gold medal, but the men’s national team is fresh off a fourth-place finish at the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Manila, adding an element of intrigue to the match.

Who is on the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball roster?
Who has been selected for the men’s basketball team for the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Several Phoenix Suns players were selected for the national team, with Kevin Durant set to play in his fourth Olympic Games.
If the U.S. team brings home the gold medal in Paris, Durant could become the first player in U.S. men’s basketball history to win four gold medals. Durant has won gold medals in 2012, 2016 and 2020, tying him with Carmelo Anthony for the most gold medals in U.S. men’s basketball Olympic history. Durant is the U.S.’s all-time leading scorer at the Olympic Games (435 points) and could add to his list of Olympic accomplishments.
Durant’s teammate, Devin Booker, will also be competing in his second Olympics.
Los Angeles Lakers guard LeBron James will return to the Olympics after playing in 2004, 2008 and 2012 but missing 2016 and 2020 (the U.S. team won a bronze medal in 2004).
Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry is set to make his Olympic debut as part of Team USA.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is the head coach of the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team.
Gonzaga coach Mark Few, Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue and Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will serve as assistants.

When will the U.S. men’s basketball team play in the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Team USA’s first match is scheduled for July 28 (8:15 a.m. ET) against Serbia.
The team will face South Sudan on 31 July at noon (MtT) before facing the winner of the Olympic Qualification Tournament on 3 August at 8:15 a.m. (MtT).
The United States is in the third group, Group C. The top two teams from each of the three groups (Group A, Group B, and Group C) and the next two third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
