The Boston Celtics will celebrate their 2024 NBA championship with a parade on Friday (June 21). The event will begin at 11 a.m. local time and is expected to draw more than one million people to the city. The Celtics are now celebrating their success with a quick trip to Miami.
The extreme heat forced the Celtics to postpone their championship celebrations and led Mayor Michelle Wu to declare a “heat emergency” on June 18. Still, Celtics fans will likely take to the streets to start the celebrations with the team and other local residents.
It has yet to be announced which television stations will broadcast the event. NBA TV will likely broadcast the parade live, local news stations will also cover it, and local radio stations will likely broadcast it to keep listeners engaged throughout the event.
Boston’s Championship Parade starts on Causeway Street, passes through City Hall Plaza, Boston Common, and ends on Boylston Street. No doubt, duck boats will join in the festivities.
It’s the Celtics’ first championship in 16 years, giving the franchise more flags than any other team in the NBA, and Joe Mazzulla’s team will surely be looking to win their 19th title next season.
