I was recently having a conversation with someone who said that they were either a bag person or a shoe person. that It’s a binary statement, but I happen to fall into the latter camp. After all, shoes are what spice up my wardrobe. A pair of colorful sneakers or bold heels can make my go-to outfit (simple jeans and a basic white tank top) look effortlessly well-styled. And there’s one look Hollywood has relied on to do just that, and Eva Longoria might have worn the sexiest version of it.
The actress was spotted in New York City wearing quite possibly the most elaborate sweater dress I’ve ever seen. It was a bodycon dress that reached down to her ankles and looked like it was sewn together. The dress was worn around her neck like a choker and tied at the bust. It was like a cardigan tied over a tube dress, giving it a DIY feel in the chicest way possible. I loved the dress, but personally, I don’t need a sweater dress in the summer. What I do need, though, were the shoes she paired it with: metallic silver stilettos.

Longoria’s metallic pumps were eye-catching but didn’t hog the spotlight: black heels next to a cool grey would have felt too bold, and white would have been too feminine, but her silver shoes complemented the modern sexiness of the dress without overpowering it. In short, it was style perfection.
Of course, you don’t have to wear sky-high heels and futuristic dresses to get in on this trend: Jane Fonda and Katie Holmes have been keeping it a bit more practical lately, opting for silver flats.
