New Delhi: Pakistan’s disastrous T20 World Cup The US campaign predictably sparked a backlash against the players and the captain. Babar AzamIn particular, is in the eye of the storm and is receiving criticism from all sides.
Babar has faced criticism from all quarters, from questions over his return as captain to a lackluster batting performance as Pakistan suffered an early exit from cricket’s biggest tournament.
And Pakistan’s horrific story was recently played out in Parliament, with Pakistani Member of Parliament Abdul Qadir Patel slamming Babar for the team’s disastrous defeat at the showpiece event.
Referring to the actions of former Pakistan cricket team captain and prime minister Imran Khan who brandished the document at a rally days before his dismissal in 2022, Abdul Qadir advised Babar to do the same.
“What has happened to our cricket team? They lost to America, they lost to India. Babar Azam should take a lesson from one of his senior cricketers (alluding to Imran Khan) and party after losses and openly brandish a document which says ‘there was a conspiracy against me’,” Abdul Qadir said.
“and Printed board If you ask him what’s written on the paper, he’ll say, “I don’t have it anymore. I lost it.”

There has been some finger-pointing within the team but I maintain, ‘Ab to ek ho jao Pakistan ke liye.'”Let’s be united for Pakistan,” he added.
The 2009 champions, who also reached the finals in 2007 and 2022, lost their first two group games to the United States and India and were eliminated from the tournament before reaching the Super Eight.
Pakistan Cricket Team Head Coach Gary Kirsten He also criticised the team’s recent “lack of unity”, saying he had “never seen anything like this” in his long managerial career.
Coming into the tournament as runners-up in the previous edition, Pakistan’s team had their worst performance in recent memory, finishing with only a narrow win over Ireland before suffering a shock defeat to newcomers USA and then losing to traditional rivals India.
According to Pakistani media reports, Kirsten, who led India to victory in the ODI World Cup in 2011, was not shy about giving his assessment of the team after the defeat.
“There is no unity in the Pakistan team. They call it a team but they are not a team. They do not support each other. Everyone is divided left and right. I have worked in many teams and I have never seen anything like this,” Kirsten said, quoting a senior journalist.
Citing sources, the Jan newspaper website quoted Kirsten as saying that a lack of team unity was the main reason for the early exit.
“Kirsten told players she was surprised at the lack of unity within the squad since joining at the end of May,” the report said.
“Your fitness is not up to par and your skill level is way behind the rest of the world. After all this time playing cricket, none of you know which shots to play or when to play them,” Kirsten reportedly told the players.
