Offensive line recruiting has been one of the biggest stories nationally in the 2025 freshman recruiting class, with the Sooners looking to add some top-tier offensive linemen to their forward group, including four-star offensive lineman Ryan Forget and three-star prospect Owen Hollenbeck.
While he appears to be moving away from the Sooners, five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood included Oklahoma in his top three schools during his active recruiting campaign, with the Sooners included along with Alabama and Florida State.
Before the Texas A&M surge and, more recently, the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Sooners were seen as favorites to win the championship at one point.
SoonerScoop and On3’s Josh McCuistion have projected him favorably for the Crimson Tide on On3, with Haywood listed as the No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 9 overall prospect in the On3 industry rankings.
At this point, it may seem like Haywood is on his way out, but don’t give up on the Sooners just yet. They’ve acquired some really good players during Brent Venables’ tenure at Oklahoma.
But even if they can’t commit to Haywood, the Sooners are still heavily committed to five-star prospects Michael Fasci and Andrew Bavaroa, four-star tackle Lamont Rogers and Rivals four-star prospect Darius Afalaba.
