Melania Trump didn’t support Barron’s political debut: Her former friend

A former White House aide and confidant of Melania Trump is claiming that the former first lady didn’t support her son, Barron Trump,’s path into the political spotlight.

Barron, 18, is former President Donald Trump’s youngest son and his only child with his wife, Melania Trump. The teenager has kept a relatively low profile, mostly appearing alongside his family at campaign events, but he’s not yet out on his own.

That all changed when it was announced in July that the young boy, who just graduated from high school in May, would represent Florida at the Republican National Convention alongside his half-siblings Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump, whose father is a leading Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

However, just the next day, his mother ruled out his chances of making the national team.

“Ms. Barron is honored to be selected to represent the Florida Republican Party but unfortunately will not be able to attend due to prior commitments,” a spokesman for the former first lady said at the time.

According to Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania Trump is unlikely to support moving into a more formal role.

Winston Wolkoff was appointed as a formal adviser to the former first lady after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, but their relationship soured when he was accused of working as a contractor for the 2017 inauguration and receiving $26 million in financial benefits.

Winston Wolkoff denied the allegations and said he was paid $1.6 million instead.

“I know that Barron’s involvement in Trump’s political sphere is something that he and Melania Trump have stayed away from for a variety of reasons,” she said in an interview with Meidas Touch host Ben Maisela on Sunday.

“But if he was going to be put at the forefront like that, if that was going to happen, I’m sure Melania Trump would have been very vocal in her support of it, 100 percent.”

Regarding the delegate announcement for the Republican National Convention, she added, “I knew she would never allow it and the fact that it took her 24 hours to stop it was actually surprising.”

Newsweek A representative for Trump was contacted by email seeking comment.

Baron made headlines last week with his independent venture into the cryptocurrency world.

Convicted “pharmaceutical associate” Martin Shkreli claimed he had a cryptocurrency partnership with Barron and was behind the mysterious DJT crypto token that launched in April. The token surged in value last week amid rumors that it was linked to the former president, whose middle name is John.

“I have over 1000 pieces of evidence. [that] “I built it with Baron,” Shkreli told online cryptocurrency researcher ZachXBT, who shared the information on X (formerly Twitter).

Newsweek We reached out to Trump’s team for comment at the time, and Shkreli posted our request to his X account.
