Singer and actor Kim Jaejoong compares the past 20 years of his life to a flower garden.
“When I was younger, the flowers of love and support I received from my fans were small and fragile. But as the flowers gathered together to form a garden, these flowers became the driving force to keep moving forward to create more bright moments in my life,” Kim Jaejoong said while introducing his fourth album “Flower Garden” during an interview with reporters in Seoul on Tuesday.
The LP will be released on Wednesday night.
Kim Jaejoong’s new album will be released to coincide with his 20th debut anniversary.
He debuted in 2003 as a member of the legendary K-pop boy group TVXQ.
“I invested a lot into the production of the ‘Flower Garden’ album because I wanted it to be something worth collecting, not just a ticket to buy to secure a seat at a fan meeting,” Kim Jaejoong said. “This album is the culmination of my music since my debut as a solo artist in 2013. It will show what kind of musical artist Kim Jaejoong can be, as well as my diverse vocal styles.”
The album contains 14 songs, 10 of which Kim participated in writing the lyrics.
The lead track on the album is “Glorious Days.”
“In this song, I sing about my glory days, when I receive love from my fans and when I can return that love. My days are glory days because of my fans,” Kim said.
After leaving C-JeS Studio, Kim founded an entertainment agency called iNkode in April last year.
Kim said, “A lot has happened in the past few years, but the biggest change was that I started an entertainment agency last year. Running my own agency has allowed me to actively pursue personal projects and focus more on what I really want to do.”
Kim also produces K-pop groups with members of various nationalities.
His goal is to set new trends in the entertainment industry.
He said that with his 20 years of experience in the industry, he is able to offer some useful advice to K-pop trainees and rookies.
“When I attend the trainees’ recordings, some of them cry because they face limitations. But I always tell them that overcoming each obstacle will help them extend their longevity as artists,” he said. “My dream is to make a big wave that will create a new trend in the K-pop industry. I want to introduce a project that has never been seen before.”
Kim is set to embark on a fan concert tour starting at Jangchung Arena in Seoul on July 20th and 21st.
Kim will also star as the male lead in MBN’s romance drama series “The Eraser of Bad Memories,” which will begin airing on August 2nd.
