The YSRCP is likely to support NDA’s Om Birla in the Lok Sabha Speaker election.
The YSRCP, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is likely to support NDA candidate Om Birla in Wednesday’s Lok Sabha Speaker elections if support is needed.
The party has four members in the House of Representatives.
However, the party’s Rajampet MP PV Midhun Reddy said the YSRCP is yet to announce its decision and it would be revealed on Wednesday.
“Officially, they will announce their decision tomorrow but it is natural that they will support the NDA candidate,” a YSRCP source said. PTI.

Rahul Gandhi becomes Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha
Indian National Congress Party leader Rahul Gandhi will take over as Leader of the Opposition in the Lower House of the National Assembly and a letter regarding the decision has been sent by the Indian National Congress Party to Interim Speaker Bhartruhari Mahtab.
The decision to appoint Rahul Gandhi as Leader of the Opposition was announced shortly after Pro-India floor leaders met at the residence of Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kargaind.
AICC general secretary KC Venugopal told media that CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi had written to the interim chief about the Indian National Congress’ decision.
“Congress President Sonia Gandhi has written to Interim Speaker Bharthar Mahtab of her decision to appoint Rahul Gandhi as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha,” Venugopal told reporters after the meeting.
