The 2024 NBA Draft has begun. The first 30 picks were made in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, with the Atlanta Hawks clinching the No. 1 overall pick. The Hawks won the draft lottery in May against long odds and will likely choose between French stars Zachary Lisacher and Alex Sarr, and University of Connecticut big man Donovan Clingan. The NBA Draft will be a two-day event for the first time in 2024. The first round (and first 30 picks) will begin at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. However, the second round won’t begin until 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. Both rounds previously took place on the same night.
While draft-day trades are sure to change the order both Wednesday and Thursday, the 2024 NBA Draft rankings will be set by Wednesday night, with the Wizards, Rockets, Spurs and Pistons expected to round out the top five behind the Hawks.

Both teams will have a combined total of 58 picks in this year’s draft. 76ers and Sands They had to give up a second-round pick due to free agent misconduct.
Bronny James, son of LeBron James, is a 2024 NBA Draft prospect and the most recognizable name in this class. While it’s unclear where Bronny will be drafted (or if he will be drafted at all), there is rife speculation that the Lakers could use their second-round pick (55th overall) to bring him to LA.

When no one knows who the best prospects are in a class, it gives a wider range of teams the opportunity to acquire impact players. While the 2024 NBA Draft may not have any Victor Wembanyama-level prospects, there will be a significant infusion of talent into the league this week.
