The 2024 National Sports Safety & Security Conference & Exposition will be held July 9-11 in Phoenix, Arizona, and is hosted annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security (NCS). The expo will honor eight experts for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues.Four) will be held at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM).
The Emerging Industry Leader Award recognises young professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. The award recipient’s contributions not only improve the safety and security of their venues and events, but also serve as an example to other award recipients.
Each league or organization chooses the criteria and determines who receives the award. The winners are:
- Mariah Barber, Director of Safety and Security, Pacers Sports & Entertainment
- Brian Caudill, Associate Director of Athletic Operations, Kansas State University
- Michelle La Sala, President, Blistering Pace Race Management
- Zach Lemelin, Sanford School District Athletic Director
- Kevin Mauldin, M.Ed., athletics trainer/teacher, Oak Grove High School
- Mallory Monson, Senior Director of Operations, America First Field
- Matt Van Norton, Director of Security and Transportation, Washington Commanders
- Jason Silva, Director of Security, Oakland Athletics

The awards will be presented at the annual awards luncheon held on the second day of the conference. Evolve Technologyprovides weapons detection systems for security screening.
