The Boss and the Street Band had been touring Europe this summer, but vocal problems forced them to take a short, unplanned break and postpone shows in France, Italy and the Czech Republic.
Springsteen, who is in the Netherlands this week, will return to Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia on Aug. 21 and 23, making up for shows postponed due to illness last summer. He has completed full tours in Ireland and the UK, and was inducted into London’s prestigious Ivor Academy by Paul McCartney in May.
The exposure benefited his album sales. Born in the USAreturned to the UK albums chart for the first time in nearly ten years, charting at number 56. The album last charted at number 50 in 2015.

Sales of the album, which spawned seven hit singles – “Dancing in the Dark” and “No Surrender” are staples of Springsteen’s current live set – are also growing in the U.S., where it re-entered the Billboard album chart this week at No. 197.
Springsteen and the E-Streeters will wrap up their European tour at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 27, then kick off the tour again in Pittsburgh on August 15 before heading to Philadelphia.
