Colorado Springs, Colorado – Freshman at Duke University Cooper Flagg He is one of 15 players selected for the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s Select Team who will train with the USA Basketball Men’s National Team in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Flagg, 17, is the only teenager and college player on the team. In addition to the 6-foot-9, 205-pound Newport, Maine native, the USA Select Team is made up of 12 current NBA or NBA G League players and two players with NBA, NBA G League, international and/or USA Basketball experience.
Flagg will be the first collegiate athlete to join the U.S. Senior National Team program since the 1990s. Doug McDermott and Marcus Smart In 2013, he was named MVP of the 2022 FIBA U-17 Men’s World Cup and more recently won the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit as part of the United States National Team.
Members of the U.S. Men’s Select Team will train daily with the U.S. Men’s National Team in Las Vegas from July 6-8.

Since the development of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team program in 2006, USA Basketball has selected and utilized eight teams (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2023) to help prepare the U.S. National Team for major international competition.
The 30 Selected Team members will join U.S. National Teams that have competed in the Olympics and FIBA World Cups, including some former Duke Blue Devils. Shane Battier (2006), Brandon Ingram (2023), Kyrie Irving (2014, 2016) and Mason Plumlee (2014, 2019).
