Peacock season 6 Love Island USA It’s likely going to be one of the most dramatic episodes yet, but only 15 episodes have aired so far.
The long-running dating competition series will not only have a new focus this year, but also a new host. Vanderpump Rules Breakout star Ariana Madix.

Vanderpump Rule iis on hiatus. Maddix and the ensemble will take a break from filming over the summer to regroup. Ultimately, it’s up to Maddix whether she returns.
During a break, the sandwich shop co-owner (who recently opened Something About Her) brings her signature facial expressions and facial expressions to another scene. Love Island Villa.
“I wanted to be 10 times more myself and bring my whole self to the role,” Maddix says. The Hollywood Reporter She hosts the American spin-off of the popular British dating show.
Season 6, which premiered on June 11 and will run for six weeks, has already brought plenty of heartbreak and tears to the show, centered around the love triangle between Lia Kateb, Rob Rauch and Andrea Carmona, but it looks like this is just the beginning, especially since there are plenty of bombshells, challenges and surprises to come, including the iconic Casa Amor.
“When I’m not watching the show or in the villa I’m always on my Instagram or TikTok accounts commenting with my twitching thumbs because I always have a lot on my mind,” added the presenter, who is also a long-time fan. Love Island Franchise.
Below, Maddix shares his thoughts on a recent tense double-elimination matchup with Carmona and Akeem White, how he survived a heated moment at Villa, what advice he’d like to give to the Islanders and hints at what’s to come this season.
In Season 5, “VIP Guest” Love Island Game You’ve been tapped to host Season 6. How did you feel when you got the call?
It was amazing! I was actually backstage. [Broadway show] Chicago [where she plays Roxie Hart] And then I had to sneak into the stage manager’s office to get the phone call. I was so excited when I got the news. I was backstage, fulfilling a lifelong dream of being on Broadway, and then I got that call and entered another dream world, and it was amazing. It was an incredible moment.
Did you feel any pressure taking over from the previous host, Sarah Hyland? And did she give you any advice?
I didn’t get any advice. But what’s really amazing is that she [Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway], It felt like I was playing Swapsie.smile). And I’m actually a little disappointed because I think she Small shopBut I’m a longtime fan Love Island Overall, seeing Sarah do so well as a host, and seeing Arielle Vandenberg, Sophie Monk, Caroline Flack (best host ever), Maya Jama (hottest right now), and all the hosts bring their own personality to their work and to the show. So I wanted to be myself because then there’s less pressure to try and do what everyone else does, and being yourself creates something that can’t be replicated. But it’s my favorite show, so I think my excitement is obvious.
The drama has had some impressive reactions so far, but what did you think when you witnessed the heated moments at the villa firsthand?
A lot of stuff goes through my mind. Sometimes I want to jump in, but I can’t because I’m the host. I’m not the Islanders. I can’t jump in and talk to them, but sometimes I have things I want to say to them face to face. It’s really interesting. As a viewer, as a fan, I love those moments. But as someone who’s getting to know the Islanders personally, I’m sad for them, angry, happy, depending on what’s going on. It’s a weird mix of emotions. I’m like, “Yeah, I’m a fan of the show, and if I watched the show, I’d be happy to see this, but I’d hate to see them go through this in real life.” So it’s an interesting feeling.
How do you deal with delivering bad news? Do you get nervous in those situations?
I definitely feel bad when I have to go in with bad news or when I have to send someone home for the night. It’s hard. Sometimes I walk in and someone’s like, “Oh my gosh, hi!” and they see my face and I can just tell they’re like, “Oh, this isn’t going to be a good night.” And sometimes I feel bad when I can’t just chat with them or I have to disappoint them that night or give them bad news. I hate having to do that, but that’s why I love watching the show.
Do you get a chance to talk to any of the Islanders beyond what viewers see on camera?
That’s about all the time we get to spend with them. Because of time constraints, the shoot lasts longer than what you can get on TV, so of course some of it lasts a little longer. [For example,] I had a long chat with them the other day in the middle of the chaos of the double elimination. [when Andrea Carmona and Hakeem White got dumped from the villa]The first night, I sat down with the girls and we talked for a lot longer than you saw, and then when the guys came, we all chatted for a lot longer than you saw on air, but for the most part, what you see is how little I talked to them, other than just saying “hi” and “you’re cute” and stuff like that.
And sometimes I’m not sure if I communicate well with my eyes. I’m trying to communicate love through my eyes, but I’m not sure if it’s really getting through.smile) They’re probably wondering, “Why is she staring at me?”
The double elimination match between Andrea Carmona and Akeem White was arguably one of the most dramatic matches. Love Island USA HISTORY — Do you think the Islanders made the right decision?
Yeah, I feel like it doesn’t matter who the girls picked. I feel bad because no one is talking about who the boys picked. I think even Hakeem said once that it made the most sense for him to pick her. I felt bad. He was standing there while everyone was panicking that Andrea was going to go home. But if you really look closely at the three girls they had to pick to go home, there’s Jana. [Craig] She’s from OG Island and has always put herself out there and really worked hard despite the odds being stacked against her. With a little more time, maybe Jana could find the right person. And then there’s Nicole. [Jacky] Kendall and I became a couple [Washington]I just got to know Miguel, even though I seemed to have a strong connection with him. [Harichi]And Andrea was there for the same amount of time as Nicole, only three or four days, but she was very close with Rob, and that’s it. And I think because she was so close with Rob, she didn’t make as strong a connection with the other girls.
And this is Love Island This type of falling out happens every season, not just on Friendship Island, but in every season, so I think it’s important that there are people who are couples or want to be couples, but it’s important that there are other islanders as well. It’s important to have friendships. So I think when the girls considered all their options, they chose who they thought made the most sense for them.
Aaron’s response [Evans] In particular, it made for great television, but it was too much. And Liv [Walker] She stood her ground. I think Liv’s a great cast member and I’ve loved watching her grow and get to know all the islanders. She really never backs down and I love that about her. I’m glad she was there in that moment to put him in his place. And the reason Aaron was upset was because he thought Rob was going to leave.
I forget if it was Liv or Jana who said this, but closing their hearts means that any shocking news that comes their way for the rest of the season will be left alone for a few days and then they’ll be sent home because no one will ever know about them. And yes, they’re a strong couple, but you can leave. Rob can leave. We knew he wasn’t going to leave.
Do you have a favorite couple you’re rooting for?
I love them all and I hope they all find the perfect person for them and have a relationship outside of the villa this year. I love them all for different reasons, so it’s hard to say who is my favorite, but Serena [Page] and Cordell [Beckham] They have such a cute exchange. I love how they have so much fun and banter with each other. I don’t know if it’s going to develop into a super romantic relationship, but I hope it does for them. But if it’s not meant to be, it’s not meant to be. But I think they’re both so cute. And Keira. [Martin] She looks so cute with Aaron. I love their handshake. I think they’re the strongest couple in the villa right now, but of course, one day there’ll be Casa Amor, so that could change. I hope Jana finds her dream guy, and I hope Kendall finds someone. But I hope everyone finds someone. That would be the ideal world.
You’ve experienced ups and downs in your past relationships yourself, what advice would you give to the Islanders?
I tell them, “Sometimes on paper they seem really nice, and on paper they say they’re my type, but then the shocking news hits and the world goes dark. Love Island I think it’s hard for everyone to really think about it and take their time to make a decision. But maybe they just talked to their friends a little bit more and tried to find the good in the person they were with. What I’m saying is, sometimes you don’t know the chemistry until you’re actually in a room together, so it’s hard to say. I really liked the couple Nicole and Kendall. So when Miguel came, I was sad that she was trying to get to know Miguel. So I wish Nicole had a little more time. But it’s hard. They don’t know what time it is, what day it is, what’s going on. I can only imagine the whirlwind of emotions they’re feeling all the time. And I’m really glad that the girls seem to support each other. I think that was so great to see this season. It was so important for them to get through this crazy experience.
Can you tell us a bit about some of the games and challenges you have planned for the Islanders in upcoming episodes?
I have no idea. I have no idea. I just know that Casa Amor is coming out soon, because we’re about halfway there, and I think there are some very exciting details in there that I can’t reveal.
In the future, Love Island USAIf so, have you been asked to return for season 7?
I’m not sure yet, but I would love to host this show until I die… like until it’s never on the air again.smile)
