Megan Thee Stallion is here to save “Hot Girl Summer” with her eponymous new album, “Megan.” But in addition to giving all the hot girls of the world another reason to celebrate, the Grammy Award-winning rapper is also showering love on one of her favorite forms of media: anime.
In her new track “Otaku Hot Girl,” the known anime fan opens with a sample from Jujutsu Kaisen, followed by Adam McArthur, the English voice actor for Itadori Yuji, reinterpreting his famous line: “I like girls like Jennifer Lawrence.”
“I like tall women with big butts,” McArthur began, “Just saying. Like Grammy Award winner Megan Thee Stallion.”
In “Otaku Hot Girl,” Megan Thee Stallion features several anime quotes, including “You can’t touch me like Gojo” and “I fight demons in my head like Itadori” from Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as “Sexy jutsu, like Naruto” and “I’m not gonna argue with Sasuke’s Abi” from Naruto.
Megan Thee Stallion has never hidden her love for anime, especially shounen manga. The award-winning rapper transformed into Bruno Bucciarati from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure while presenting an award at Crunchyroll’s 2024 Anime Awards, and has also cosplayed as other anime characters, including Todoroki and Mirko from My Hero Academia, Jolyne from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Death the Kid from Soul Eater, and Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, all of which can be found on her Instagram. In 2022, she performed in Tokyo dressed as Sailor Moon.
Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter today to ask fans what song they would like to see a music video for first, and with “Otaku Hot Girl” ranking high on the list, we can hopefully see more of the star’s love of anime later this year.
